(10-4-23) Mercer County Sheriff, Jeff Grey, reports that his office will be participating in the National Faith and Blue weekend October 6-9, 2023. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with local faith based organizations and planned a prayer service for Sunday, October 8, 2023. This will take place at the Commercial Building of the Mercer County Fairgrounds at 1001 West Market St, in Celina, beginning at 6:00pm. The purpose of this event is to bring people of all faiths together with law enforcement and improve community engagement. We invite members of all faiths to come and hear from speakers from Immaculate Conception Church, Grand Lake United Methodist Church, and Mendon First Church of God. These speakers will provide blessings for our community as a whole, our local law enforcement, and the public’s pets & loved ones. Please feel bring your family and your pets to have special personalized blessing. Animals should be crated or on a leash. While this service will probably only last an hour, if you have difficulty standing for long periods of time, we do suggest that you bring a lawn chair.
We will also be accepting donations for our annual Community Wide Food Drive at this event. Please consider coming to this service and bringing a canned good for the less fortunate of Mercer County. All donations and proceeds given to our Community Wide Food Drive will be divided up and given to the C.A.L.L. Food Pantry and Our Home Family Resource Center.
