Celina, OH (9-25-23) – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports the arrest of two individuals this weekend on drug related charges.  On Saturday, September 23rd at 7:00 PM, Mercer County Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of US Rte 127 and St Rte 707, in Dublin Township.  The vehicle was occupied by four individuals, all who reside outside the state of Ohio.

Through the traffic investigation, probable cause to search the vehicle was present and also the driver, Miller K. Smith (56) of Ewing, KY consented to a vehicle search.  A subsequent search of the vehicle found numerous suspected drugs and drug related items.  These items were collected as evidence.  Arrested were Jessie B. Renner (51) and Kathy L. Mitchell (54), both rear seat passengers.  They were transported to the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility and booked in for Possession of Hashish, a Felony of the Fifth Degree and are being held without bond. 

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mercer County Prosecutor Erin Minor.  The case will be turned over to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review of additional charges.
