An unidentified 70-year-old driver from Lima was hurt following a wrong-way crash in Auglaize County Sunday night. Ohio State Highway troopers were sent to U.S. 33 near milepost 12 in Moulton Township on reports that a driver was going in the wrong direction.

An investigation revealed that the Lima driver was traveling the wrong way on U.S. 33 in their 2003 Buick LeSabre. The driver was going eastbound in the westbound lanes.

A 2023 Chrysler Pacifica and a 1999 Dodge Stratus were both traveling west on U.S. 33 when the Buick struck the Chrysler and then the Dodge before coming to a final stop in the median.

The driver and passenger of the Chrysler were treated on scene with minor injuries, the driver and passenger of the Dodge were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

(9-11-23) The Ohio State Highway Patrol is on the scene of a crash in northern Mercer County that happened on Sunday evening when a wrong way driver was going eastbound in the westbound lane of U.S. 33.

The driver collided head-on with another vehicle after 9 p.m. near the 8000 block of U.S. 33 north of Celina near Neptune.

The wrong-way driver was injured in the crash. No other injuries have been confirmed.
