(9-10-23) The Outlook received a link to the story below from the Northwest Ohio Trans Advocacy group replying to a recent posting from Celina’s State Rep. Angie King.

While I would love to assign Rep. Kings misrepresentation to ignorance, I believe it to be much more nefarious than that. She is playing into the anti-LGBTQ right-wing talking points that threaten LGBTQ lives across our state and across the country. If violence results from such misreprestantions, Rep. King will need to live with the fact that she is at least partially responsible. The people of Ohio deserve facts, not fictions to reinforce falsehoods and bigotries.

To amend sections 2907.39 and 4301.25 of the Revised Code to prohibit adult cabaret performances in locations other than adult cabarets.

(4) “Adult cabaret performance” means a performance in a location other than an adult cabaret that is harmful to juveniles or obscene and that features topless dancers; go-go dancers; exotic dancers; strippers; performers or entertainers who exhibit a gender identity that is different from the performer’s or entertainer’s gender assigned at birth using clothing, makeup, prosthetic or imitation genitals or breasts, or other physical markers; or other similar performers or entertainers who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, regardless of whether or not the performance is for consideration.
