(9-8-23) Dana L. Zimmerman (40) has been charged in Jay Circuit Court with a Level 4 felony arson charge.

In Indiana…A person who commits a Level 4 felony shall be imprisoned for a fixed term of between two (2) and twelve (12) years, with the advisory sentence being six (6) years. In addition, the person may be fined not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000).

Since April Zimmerman has resided in Terre Haute and most recently in Muncie.

Zimmerman was living in a house that his mother owned, in the 200 block of Mount Auburn Street, Dunkirk at the time of the April 19th fire. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security said a fire was ignited under the kitchen sink, investigators indicated that they found a gasoline can in a hallway in the house.

Zimmerman is being held on a $15,000 bond in the Jay County Jail.
