(9-1-23) Mercer Health held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on August 7 at Romer’s Catering in St. Henry. This annual event is held to celebrate the accomplishments of the members of the Volunteer Association of Mercer Health.

The evening began with an invocation delivered by Volunteer Board Chairperson David Nicholson and included the presentation of the annual scholarship from the Volunteer Association by Vice Chairperson Terry Liette. Gwyneth Elking of St. Henry was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. Guest speakers for this year’s event included Mercer Health CEO Lisa Klenke and Mercer Health CFO Jon Dingledine.

The Volunteer Association donated a total of 8,905.4 hours to Mercer Health in 2022. Additional awards distributed that evening included:

  • 3000 hours: Diane Buening
  • 1000 hours: Chuck Selhorst, Bernice Koesters, Linda L. Hoying, Carol Bellman, Liane Muhlenkamp, Mary Lee Thomas
  • 500 hours: Connie Howe, Mary Honigford, Betty Sanning, Linda Cummins
  • 250 hours: Terry Liette, Roy Kremer, Mary Jo Bellman, Barry Paynter, Mary Ann Hemmelgarn, Jim Fisher, Brenda Schoenlein
