(8-22-23) Cody J. Jackson (35) Fort Recovery pleaded guilty in Jay (Indiana) Circuit Court to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony. (The charge was lessened from a Level 4 felony)
Jackson was sentenced to three years in Indiana Department of Corrections with all but 96 days suspended and placed on probation for two years.
Jackson was fined $1, assessed $185 in court costs and ordered to pay a $200 drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee.
As part of his plea agreement, a Level 4 felony for dealing a narcotic drug and a Level 6 felony for maintaining a common nuisance were dismissed.
Jackson and three others from Portland was arrested after a raid of a home in the 700 block of East Water Street in Portland on December 18, 2021.
He was originally facing charges of dealing in meth, dealing in a narcotic drug and maintaining a common nuisance.
The dealing counts against Jackson are Level 4 felonies with maximum 12-year sentences.
