WAYNESFIELD (8-2-23) – At approximately 2:51 pm today, first responders were called to 310 East Wapakoneta Street, Waynesfield, in reference to a structure fire.
The house, owned by Robert and Kathleen Brown of Florida, became fully engulfed and is a total loss. One adult male and one juvenile male were home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries, however.
The cause of the fire is known, however the case is still under investigation. The scene was cleared and roadway reopened at approximately 5:45 pm.
Agencies on the scene include the Waynesfield Police Department, Wayne Township Fire & Rescue Department, Lakeview Fire Department, St. John’s Fire Department, Uniopolis Fire Department, Westminster Fire Department, the Auglaize County CERT team, the Auglaize County Emergency Management Agency, and Miller Auto.
Because this is an active law enforcement investigation, no additional comment will be made at this time.
