(7-22-23) It seems that a frequent amount of crashes recently have been happening in Darke County keeping Sheriff’s Deputies quite busy.

Crash #1 – On July 21, 2023 at approximately 6:13 PM Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire, Versailles Rescue, Greenville TWP Rescue, and CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of US 127 and Beamsville Union City Road in reference to an accident with injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2007 Ford Explorer driven by Patrick Harsh (43) of Greenville was attempting to make a left turn onto US 127 from Beamsville Union City Road. Mr. Harsh failed to yield the right of way traveling into the pathway of a northbound tan 2005 GMC Sierra driven by Caden King (19) of Union City. The two vehicles struck in the intersection. Harsh and his passenger, Kaylynn Key (20) of Bradford and a juvenile passenger were treated at the scene and were transported to Wayne Health Care with minor injuries. King was treated at the scene and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight with non life threatening injuries.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Crash #2 – On July 21, 2023 at approximately 10:12 PM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Twp Rescue, Greenville Twp. Fire, and Greenville City Fire were dispatched to State Route 49 and Childrens Home Bradford Road in reference to an accident with injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Devon Stephens , 26, of Versailles was traveling South on State Route 49. Stephens failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn, traveling into the pathway of a northbound black 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by Allison Miller (20) of Greenville. Stephens was treated at the scene and was transported to Wayne Health Care with minor injuries. Miller and a juvenile passenger were treated at the scene and transported to Wayne Health Care with minor injuries.
