(7-20-23) In a tweet sent out today Ohio US Rep Troy Balderson said he –

inadvertently voted against Rep. Miller’s amendment.

The bill that was introduced by Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., as an amendment to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) re-authorization legislation and was defeated by a close 219-216 vote late Wednesday. The bill would have forced Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to report his flight records on government-owned jets. According to the roll call, 10 Republicans, including Balderson, voted against the bill while three Democrats voted in favor of the amendment which had language to “require a report on the Secretary of Transportation flight records.”

Nine other Republican reps, including David Joyce (Ohio), also voted against the amendment including House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (Missouri),Jack Bergman (Michigan) , Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania) , Garret Graves (Louisiana), Jennifer Kiggans (Virginia), Marcus Molinaro (New York) and Brandon Williams (New York).

Three Democrats who voted for the amendment were Yadira Caraveo (Colorado), Ted Lieu (California) and Katie Porter (California) jumped ship and voted with Republicans.
