(7-18-23) The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is announced the promotion of Dispatcher Rachel Williams to the position of 9-1-1 Administrator.
Williams replaces long-time administrator Monte Diegel who just retired.

Administrator Williams began her career at the Sheriff’s Office in 2016 as a Dispatcher. Rachel excelled at dispatching early in her career and began training new dispatchers, formally becoming an FTO in early 2019. She has been a team member of our Critical Incident Stress Management team since 2019, became an EMD instructor since 2021, and has been an EMT with Coldwater EMS since 2019. She has earned the title of Dispatcher of the Year twice, in 2017 and again in 2022.
During her career, Rachel has earned an Office Citation, a Life Saving Award, and 3 Commendations for her outstanding work.
According to the release…Williams has been a constant source of inspiration and compassion for her coworkers as well as the community she serves and we could not be prouder of her.
