(7-17-23) Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose announced today that he plans to run for the U.S. Senate next year.

In a statement sent around to media Monday morning, he said he hopes to restore —

“Ohio’s voice and values to the Senate.“

“Like a lot of Ohioans, I’m concerned about the direction of our country. As the father of three young girls, we have a duty to defend the values that made America the hope of the world.”

LaRose is a former state senator, has been Ohio’s Secretary of State since 2019 LaRose is the first statewide official to enter the Republican primary against state Sen. Matt Dolan, whose family owns the Cleveland Guardians Major League Baseball team and Cleveland-area businessman Bernie Moreno
