(6-27-23) The Animal Protection League of Mercer County now has 17 Goldens coming in from the Mercer County Dog Warden.
There are two moms and 15 puppies they think are from three litters based on their coloring and ages, with the pups anywhere from three to six months old.

There are 4 boys and 11 girls. The four lighter colored puppies are going into foster care because they need extra care right now. The 11 red puppies are up for adoption. We do have foster homes for them. There are two adult females, Katy and Kassidy. Both are available for adoption.
These 17 were dumped in fields in the country and rounded up by the dog warden.
Every dog costs us $40 in a pull fee. That’s a total of $480.00 just to get them out. We are looking for people to sponsor a pull fee or even a portion of a pull fee.
You can sponsor one of these goldens’ pull fees by donating through our website: https://aplmercer.com/donate or by donating through Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/APLMERCER
You can also stop by the Celina Animal Hospital, located at 7121 Havemann Road in Celina, to make a donation directly on their vet bill.
We have a lot of people asking when they’ll be available for adoption. They’ll be available as soon as their vet work is done and they’re cleared for adoption. Could be as soon as Wednesday or longer if they need more time. You are welcome to fill out an adoption application here: https://aplmercer.com/adoption-application

**Please keep in mind that most of the dumped Goldens we’ve had come in are scared to death. They have no leash training and need a lot of time to learn to trust. Please consider this before applying. These dogs/puppies coming in can range from 4 months up to adult. It’s not easy to carry a 6 month old Golden who is terrified of the leash. Every single person in the family needs to be on board with the work it’ll take to socialize and train your new dog.
