(6-26-23) Over the years Grand Lake had many oil derricks drilled, but in June of 1923 well producing oil wells were found in Liberty Township. This included wells near St. Henry, Coldwater and Wendelin.

After the shot the well flowed for several hours and is reported to be one of the best wells ever drilled in Mercer County.
