(6-5-23) Dakota Embry (24), an inmate who escaped last Thursday, from the Wood County Jail last week, he died several hours after his capture and returned to his jail cell.

Embry was found unresponsive in his cell around 10:30 pm on Friday, just seven hours after being apprehended and re-booked into the jail.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s office, Embry was under the care of a nurse at the jail with check-ups every ten minutes.

Deputies attempted CPR but Embry was pronounced dead when EMS arrived. There were no signs of foul play, and his body was sent to the Lucas County Coroners office for further investigation.
