(10-26-21) Earlier today the Lima Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop when Marva Ackles (47) fled and a short pursuit took place. The pursuit soon ended.

Later…Ackles (47), according to the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol,,driving a 2012 Lincoln MKZ was westbound on Koop Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and went off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, Clarence L. Powell III (42) of Lima was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center with serious injuries.

Neither passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
