(12-4-19) This morning, at 7:08 AM, Celina Police were dispatched to a pedestrian crash on E. Wayne St. at Holly St. in the school zone. The investigation concluded that a 13 year old boy was crossing E Wayne St from south to north at Holly St. He crossed against a red traffic signal and was struck by a westbound 2013 Lincoln sedan driven by Brandon Anderson (32) of Celina. Witnesses report that the vehicle had a green light.
The 13 year old boy received minor scrapes and scratches and refused treatment at the scene. His mother picked him up. There was no damage to the vehicle. No citations have been issued.
Thanks for the click-bait headline – “Car Pedestrian CRASH”.

Not taking sides but for what it’s worth, although this release did come from the CPD, the headline apparently did not. Take for example the article posted on WCSM. Exact same release details but with this headline “Child struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Celina” Seems to portray a more accurate description of the accident, not?
