
(3-1-18) House Bill 523 on September 8, 2016, legalized medical marijuana in Ohio. The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program will allow people with certain medical conditions, upon the recommendation of an Ohio-licensed physician certified by the State Medical Board, to purchase and use medical marijuana. The program is set to officially start on September 8th this year.
As of today only one applicant has been filed in the Stateline area, Eagle Dispensaries, 502 N. Dixie Highway near Wapakoneta is in the process of applying to operate. Auglaize, Allen and Putnam counties are allowed just one site in NW District 5 to sell by the state.
Mercer County is a part of another district that includes Van Wert and Paulding counties. At this point of the process no applications have been filed in NW District 7.
