Mad Run Committee Designates State of the Heart Hospice As Recipients Of 2018 Proceeds

FORT RECOVERY, OHIO – JANUARY 8, 2018 — The Mad Run Committee is pleased to announce that they have selected the State of the Heart Hospice as the recipients of proceeds from the 2018 Mad Run to be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

The 5K off-road challenge course travels through Ambassador Park in Fort Recovery and surrounding wooded areas. The event features a series of more than 25 unique obstacles designed to test the strength and endurance of participants. Planned challenges include bringing back the popular obstacles such as the “Dragon Pit” where participants will jump over fire, climb “Mount Everest”, test their horizontal rock climbing skills on the “The Great Wall”, “The Log Bog” will lead the participants over and under logs all while trudging through the mud, “Slip & Slide” this obstacle will be a slippery great time all the way to the bottom of the hill where you will land in a pool of water and mud, and get down and dirty in the “Mad Crawl” along with many more exciting obstacles. Once again, the committee is excited to be introducing several new obstacles.

The 7th Annual Mad Run kicks off at 8:00 am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with the 8:00am and 8:15am timeslots reserved for competitive participants. The general public is encouraged to attend to watch the event from the designated spectator area. Music entertainment, food and beverage services will be available throughout the day. The Mad Kids will also be available for the younger kids to have a little fun on some kid-sized obstacles throughout the day starting at 9am. No pre-registration required. One time use or an all-day option are both available.
