A Waffle House Christmas Miracle

(12-26-17) Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago, many say it was a Christmas miracle. The Grand Lake United Methodist Church in Celina decided to share some of that miracle with five ladies who were working on Christmas Eve at the Waffle House just off I-75 in Wapakoneta.

Rev. Mick Whistler, asked his congregation to give  $1 each during the week of advent, with each family bringing five $1 bills to the Christmas Eve service.

The church members would raise over $3,500 to give to the five ladies working that night who were giving up some of their Christmas Day to provide meals for travelers at the Waffle House in Wapakoneta.

After the service, Pastor Whistler and a caravan of Christmas Eve worshipers headed to Wapakoneta  to give the special gift to the workers and surprise them. ($700 for each worker). A Christmas Miracle at the Waffle House.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
