
(7-25-17) Parkway Grad Clista Hellwarth (sponsored by Goettemoeller Garage) of rural Celina was crowned Queen of the 2017 Miss Lake Festival pageant at the Celina Educational Complex last night. Hellwarth, who will be a freshman at the University of St Francis (Ft. Wayne) and is attending on a track scholarship, sang and played the piano to Roberta Flack’s song “Killing Me Softly” for the talent portion of the competition., her platform issue was ‘Agriculture Awareness-Feeding the World’. Hellwarth will oversee the activities of the festival this weekend and now is qualified to move on to next year’s Miss Ohio pageant.
It’s not the first Lake Festival Queen for the Hellwarth family, Clista is a cousin of Cayla who was crowned at the 2009 Lake Festival pageant.

The 1st runner up was St. Henry’s Riley Post (sponsored by the St. Henry Bank) and the 2nd runner up was Celina’s Kelsey Swann (sponsored by McDonald’s).

The winner of the Celina Lake Festival Outstanding Teen was Minster’s Kaycie Wissman. Kaycie gave a vocal performance for her talent part of the pageant. and her platform was “Compassion Into Action“. The 1st runner up for Outstanding teen went to Celina’s Julianna Lee.
